  • Specialized Care: Help in navigating high anxiety, and high-risk pregnancy complexities.

    Labor Support & Birth Photography

  • Unlimited Birth Support: 24/7 access, and unlimited emotional & physical care on your birth day.

  • Collaborative Care: Advocacy and assistance in communicating with your medical team.

  • Expert Coaching: Help optimizing labor positions & breathing techniques.

  • First Feed & Skin-to-Skin: Support for your baby’s first moments, and your lactation hormones.

  • Birth Photography: 25 professionally edited images to capture your story.

    Postpartum & Lactation

  • Ongoing Support: Unlimited text, phone, & email for postpartum guidance.

  • In-Home Lactation/Postpartum Visits: Done by a Certified Lactation Counselor, personalized support tailored to your and your families unique needs. Ensuring your healing, mental health & adjustment needs are being met.

  • Final Postpartum Visit: Processing your birth story, final referrals if needed, and designing a custom pumping plan if needed for your return to work.

  • Special Surprises: Thoughtful touches to support you along the way.

  • A doula provides emotional, physical, and educational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum—but does not perform any clinical tasks.

    At The Elgin Doula, we work alongside midwives and OBs to offer compassionate, personalized support—so you feel truly cared for in every way.

  • Our all-inclusive package includes 3 prenatal visits, 12+ hours of online childbirth/postpartum education, unlimited birth support, birth photography, and 3 in-home lactation visits after baby arrives.

  • Yes! We support all types of births, including hospital births, inductions, epidurals, and planned C-sections. We specialize in high-risk pregnancies but serve all families.

  • We’re a boutique practice offering expert, relational care. Unlike larger agencies, we take fewer clients, invest more time with each family, and offer continuity of care before, during, and after birth.

  • Yes! Most clients pay in 3–4 installments, with final payment due by 36 weeks of pregnancy.

  • We do not bill insurance directly for doula care.

    However, we’re happy to provide a detailed superbill with diagnostic codes and our NPI number that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement after services are completed.

    We also accept HSA and FSA cards, as well as Progeny and Carrot benefits.
