Grace Wainwright- Practice Manager, Birth Doula, Lactation Counselor, & Registered Nurse
Welcome! My name is Grace Wainwright and I’m a Christian, Wife, Sister, and Aunt. I’m a DONA-certified birth doula, ALPP-certified lactation counselor, Spinning Babies Trained, and a registered nurse serving expectant parents in the NW Chicago suburbs.
After working in healthcare for many years first as a CNA, and then a nurse; I have absolutely loved serving families as a birth doula! I was inspired to shift to birth work so that I could really take the time to connect with my clients, provide thorough prenatal informational support, help parents know all of their options in labor, and help them thrive in the postpartum season!

The Elgin Doula Experience
Growing up as the 7th of 9 children and now aunt of 13 nieces and nephews (with more one the way), I have always been surrounded by pregnancy and babies!
Through my family, and even more as a birth doula, I have gotten to see the beauty and the challenges of pregnancy, birth and newborn life. These experiences have informed and inspired my passion to support my clients achieve the kind of birth THEY desire, regardless of location and medical complexities.
I love helping families navigate each step of the process by providing encouragement and evidence-based information. I have had the joy of supporting high risk, and high anxiety moms have beautiful medicated and unmedicated births in hospital. I have also been honored to support amazing home and birth center moms in their natural birth dreams.
