Meet Shauna Davis: Birth Doula Serving Woodstock & the Chicago Suburbs
We are so excited to welcome Shauna Davis to The Elgin Doula team!
Shauna is a Christian birth doula serving families from South Eastern Wisconsin all the way to the Chicago suburbs! Based out of Woodstock IL, she loves serving families from Lake Geneva and Beloit, to Elgin, and beyond. She joins us with a background in women’s health, a DONA Certified Birth Doula, Bradley Method Provisional Affiliate, and Spinning Babies trained. She has deep compassion for families navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Shauna has been married to her husband, Rich, for 25 years, and together they have three children — two boys and one girl — now in their later teen and early adult years. Their family has called Woodstock home since 2020!
A Heart for Informed Birth
Shauna’s passion for birth work began with her own birth experiences. During the births of her three children, she ended up with interventions she did not always want or need — and it ultimately sparked her passion for women’s health and birth advocacy.

Shauna’s background includes five years working in Obstetrics & Gynecology as a Certified Medical Assistant, where she discovered her love for supporting women through pregnancy and postpartum.
She completed DONA International birth doula training in July 2024 and received her official Birth Doula Certification from DONA International in 2025.
Shauna has also completed NRP Essential Provider Training, attended a full-day Spinning Babies® Workshop, completed training through 4th Trimester Fitness Method, and received her Provisional Affiliate certificate to teach The Bradley Method® childbirth education through the AAHCC.
She is also currently studying to become an ALPP-certified lactation counselor, expanding her ability to support families through feeding and postpartum transitions.

We are honored to have Shauna join The Elgin Doula team. Her calm presence, compassionate heart, and commitment to informed birth make her a wonderful fit for the families we serve.
You can often find her on her front porch with a good book—usually birth-related—soaking up the fresh air whenever the weather allows, or on a walk with her husband and two dogs, Marty and Charlie.
